Six Men's Shoe Care Tips

It is a known fact that men's shoes are somewhat more expensive as compared to women's shoes. With that thought it should be enough reason for men to start taking care of their shoes be it the dress shoes or their sports shoes. To help them with this, here are some ways to make men's shoes last longer.

1. When you're putting on a shoe, do not just slide it in without supporting the heel part. If you keep on doing this when putting on your shoe, eventually the heel part will get deformed and then torn. It is not a good practice to simply wiggle your foot in until you get it inside the shoe; instead of doing that use a shoe horn instead. A shoe horn will help you put on your shoes better. With a shoe horn you no longer need to twist your foot just to get it inside the shoe.

2. Avoid kicking your shoes when you take them off. There is no denying that men do this, if not most of the time but all the time. They usually do this when they are too tired to bend down and take the shoes off. Remember that the best way to take off your shoes is to put your index finger inside the shoe at the rear end and smoothly slide your feet off.

3. If you are active in various types of sports, it would be best if you wear the appropriate kind of shoes. If you are into running, wear running shoes. If you are into trekking, wear trekking shoes and if you are into basketball wear your basketball shoes. Remember that not all shoes are made to survive the stresses of a particular activity. By wearing the designated pair, you are assured that it will be able to take the stresses it has to undergo.

4. Men have the tendency to ignore their shoes even if the damage is already pretty obvious. Well that habit is not a good thing to do because it will only lead you to spending some more money on men's shoes. When you notice something different or something wrong with your shoes, take it to a shoe repairman and have it repaired. Doing so will surely help you save.

5. If you work at an office and have to wear dress shoes all the time, have an alternate pair. Having two pairs of shoes won't hurt you. With another pair on hand, you will be able to wear a different pair everyday. Alternating your shoes will surely help it last longer.

6. Men are known to sweat a lot especially if they are doing some physical activity. Their feet are not exempted from that sweating and due to this their shoes also get wet. If this happens, wipe your shoes before you store them. In short, keep your shoes dry not only on the outside but also on the inside especially if you have sweaty feet. Remember that moisture can damage the materials used to manufacture your shoes.

Men's shoes experience more trauma as compared to most women shoes because men tend to be more active physically. The astounding price tag that comes along with each pair of men's shoes should be enough for them to start following the shoe care tips mentioned above.
