Six Ways To Care For Your Neckties
One must have in men's clothing is the tie. Yes, it is true that not all men wear a tie. They may not wear it but they surely have one or two ties inside their closets. Some men wear a tie everyday because it is a part of their dress code at work. Some men wear ties to special occasions only. But all in all men do wear ties.
Your tie work as an accent, the same way a waist belt works on a woman's get up. Ties come in different colors and patterns and they are also made of different types of materials. The tie may seem insignificant but it is capable of creating a humongous effect on your get up. Sometimes it is the tie that ties everything you wear together.
Ties may be small but in order to preserve its beauty you will have to take care of it. Ties have to be taken cared of too because most ties are made from delicate materials like satin and silk. Here are some tie care tips that will surely help you.
1. If you are going to wear a tie that is either made up of silk or satin then you should apply some fabric protection spray before you wear them. Silk and satin ties can be very delicate so a protective spray will surely do the trick.
2. When wearing a tie, keep it away from dripping foods and condiments that can probably end up on your tie and eventually stain it. Examples of these foods are soups, spaghetti sauce, ketchup and other sauces.
3. Do not pull your tie or slip it off your head. Doing so will surely damage the delicate fibers used to manufacture your tie. Instead of doing those, untie your tie by retracing your steps. In other words, untie your tie the same way you tied it only this time in reverse.
4. Ties are usually made from wrinkle resistant materials to keep them wrinkle free but then after you untied your tie you will surely notice some wrinkles on the area that was used as a knot. Do not iron this part; instead, hang them on the tie rack or inside your closet. The wrinkles will eventually disappear overnight.
5. Do not dump your ties inside the closet or drawer. The best way to store ties is to hang them on a tie rack but in cases wherein no tie rack is available you can simply roll your tie and put them inside a jar.
6. When unfortunately your tie got stained, remove it as fast as possible. Do not let the stains settle into your tie because that will be much harder to remove. To keep the stain from setting in, dab a moist cloth unto your tie. Do not store your stained tie, instead wash it immediately.
You may not wear your tie all the time but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of them. Neckties can bring your rather boring get up to life so treasure them.
